The Belgium WSA-mobile 2012 announces nomination period kick off.
The World Summit Award Mobile (WSA-Mobile) is a global initiative to select and promote the world’s best in mobile content and innovative applications within the framework of, and in cooperation with, the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), mandated by the WSIS Plan of Action and executed in collaboration with UNESCO, UNIDO and UN GAID.
Peter A. Bruck points to the content divide
“The most important digital divide is the content divide” WSA-mobile Chairman Peter Bruck said at the sixth Internet Governance Forum in Nairobi. It was important to highlight that the digital divide meant not only an access divide in remote regions. With the content gap the richness and diversity of electronic products was at stake.
Belgian mobile creators stand up and go for it !
"Launching such an event in Belgium is a great experience," says Rudi Vansnick, Chairman of ISOC Belgium and WSA National expert. "Not only does it allow us to experience the variety of our national projects but also to select the best of them following the high standards of the WSA. In 2009 Belgium had a worldwide winner in the category e-Entertainment (WSA)."
Starting 16 February 2012 any organisation or enterprise can nominate their project for the Belgian WSA-mobile till 31 March 2012. End of June the 8 winners will be honoured with an award and nominated for the WSA-mobile world contest.
